David A. Smith lives and works in the United Kingdom, where he has gained more than 28 years of extensive board-level experience with global, multinational companies such as Courtalds Group and PPG Industrials International, functioning as an international Business Development Director, with regional profit and loss responsibility. He is also the co-founder of Performance Effects, a UK based strategy consultancy, and has worked with companies in more than 30 countries worldwide.

David holds a bachelor of science degree with honors from the University of Wales, Swansea, a master of science degree from the University of Southampton, an AIMC designation from the Institute of Management Consultancy, and a track record of driving business forward and delivering change in global environments. He has worked in a variety of manufacturing sectors, including automotive OEM, aftermarked and components, aviation, aerospace and defense, general industrial manufacturing, and coatings, adhesives, and chemicals. He is highly experienced in strategic business planning, and international business development, sales and marketing, marketing research, business analysis, mergers and acquisitions, business integration, team building and employee development, culture change, and quality process/performance improvement.
